Naomi Clark’s tapestry for Salvage Lab, titled Coasters, is one of a series of works created with Fort Makers called Quilt Paintings.  Since 2008, Clark has made abstract and colorful tapestries by painting, appliqueing and refiguring vintage wool camp blankets. She describes her process as “painting with fabric.”

Found wool camp blankets, fabric scraps & Fabric paint

Salvage Lab embraces the progressive idea that beautiful and well-designed objects can be made from scrap materials, as do we. Fort Makers jumped at the opportunity to work with a business that shares similar concerns about the environment, and also finds beauty and inspiration in old materials.
